My Birthday Present...To Myself

I've made a decision. My habits haven't been the same since I got pregnant with Jet, and it's time to fix that for good. For almost 5 years, I've been out of my comfort zone. I've decided that since I'm not getting any younger, I need to start surrendering to my body's desire to consume natural, nutrient-filled foods, engage in generous amounts of daily exercise, and receive plenty of rest. My hope is that the result is more energy, better sleep, lasting health benefits, and the side-effect of being more comforable in my skin.

Putting this into a blog is scary for me. I think that now that I've not only said it to myself, but now put it out on the internet, I need to follow-through. Accountability. But, I've thought of others who've inspired me - women who are moms and have made these same decisions for themselves. A couple of them are celebrities...

Here is a picture of an amazing personal trainer who's inspired me that I worked with in Utah. This is a picture of her after she had her daughter.

Also, I found the website http://www.removingmyfatsuit.com/. I follow along with Gayle's progress. I find her story & progress inspiring.

Oh, sweet girl! Thanks for sharing your goals! I, too, have recently begun a do-over. I'm training for a 5k in October (Austin), and another in January (Houston). With all that I have to lose, it is very scary, but God has been gracious to provide some great friends and encouragers to help out! Let me know how I can encourage you!

Quick question... The title is "My B-Day Present" so does that mean you'll be going to Jackie's Skylab?? If so when?

So that was really nice of you to put a picture of me on the blog entry. It actually was really good for me. This last month has been crazy with vacation, being home with family, and moving to Ohio that I have totally neglected my health. And I feel like crap. I am ready to get back on track and your blog has inspired me. It is hard to do it all, especially with babies, but it is so worth it! Keep me posted on what you are doing with your goal. I would love to hear.
