In May, Jet tried out for the local swimming team for the 6-and-under age group. On the fourth day, they told us that he just wasn't ready. They were right. As a former college swimmer, I was crushed & felt like I'd set up my son for failure. He had no idea what had happened, but we did.So, we started working harder with him, but he wasn't all that interested until he learned that the only way he could jump off of the diving board was to become a "Certified Swimmer". To become certified, he had to swim across the 25 yard pool without stopping by himself. He did it yesterday, and then immediately went straight for the diving board without delay. He is just like his daddy.
